Latest Republican opposition to overhaul immigration reform

Opposition to immigration reform continues to create headlines. According to the President, the continued opposition of the Republican Party is alienating a whole generation of immigrants by opposing to overhaul immigration laws.

Different sectors of the media have echoed the statements made by President Obama in Santa Monica, to a group of young entrepreneurs, regarding the need for qualified immigrant skilled labor and vowed to make changes to the immigration system by increasing the work permits for talented immigrants.

It is not clear what the Republicans are going to achieve and long-term this could result in political suicide.
