H-1B Visas reach regulatory máximum for 2016
According to the United States Citizenship and Immigration services, petitions for H-1B visas for the fiscal year 2016 have reached their maximum statuary cap of 65,000.
USCIS received nearly 233,000 H-1B petitions during the filing period, which began April 1, and the 20,000 cap under the advanced degree exemption. USCIS will reject and return all unselected petitions with their filing fees, unless the petition is found to be a duplicate filing.
In addition, USCIS announced that they will continue to deal with requests that are exempt from the maximum cap and will not count petitions filed on behalf of current H-1B workers who have been counted previously against the cap.
